Religious Education
From September 2025, we will be following the new Gloucestershire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education (2025).
The Syllabus asserts the importance and value of religious education for all pupils, with on-going benefits for an open, articulate and understanding society. At Cam Hopton this is an imprtant element in the spiritual, moral and cultural education provision and as a means by which children acquire knowledge and understanding of major world religions, an appreciation of ultimate questions and responses to them, and an opportunity to develop their own believes, values and worldviews.
The principal aim for religious education in Gloucestershire is for pupils to understand how worldviews influence people’s lives, including their own, through the study of religious and non-religious worldviews, so that they better understand themselves and the world around them, and become better equipped to contribute to and flourish in society
