R: In Reception, children use Twinkl phonics actions, pictures & rhymes to learn letter formation.

1: In Year 1, children continue to use Twinkl phonics to practise letter formation. Handwriting is a focus throughout the day: children are reminded about letter sizing, spacing and positioning.

2: In Year 2, children begin to follow The Write Path handwriting programme. Children who are not yet ready to join will continue to be supported by Twinkl resources. The programme is fully cursive including feeder-leader lines.

3: Handwriting support will be provided by The Write Path programme for those chn not joining when they enter year 3. At Cam Hopton, children learn to use a feeder-leader line.

KS2: For children needing support with handwriting, The Write Path, Bubble Handwriting (TES) & Twinkl resources are used where appropriate.

Due to the knock on effects of COVID, there are currently more children needing support with handwriting in KS2.
