Look what has been possible through PTA funding....!
The main purpose of the PTA and its objective is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by:
1 - Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.
2 - Engaging in activities, providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.
Every penny is reinvested as a donation to the school. Here are some of the things we have funded in the past...
New Playground Equipment
2023-2024 The PTA fundraised £15,000 towards new outdoor play equipment – many thanks to all who donated and all who helped with and participated in the fundraising events to help meet the target!
Outdoor Classroom
2017-2018 saw yet another huge challenge! Another £9k for an Outdoor Classroom. We managed to raise an astounding £16K which meant our new Classroom was officially opened on 28th Sept 2018
Travelling Dinosaur Workshop
2018 - We contributed towards a visit from a Travelling Dinosaur Workshop - in the words of the children " it was awesome"
Early Years Outdoor Space
2018-2020 The implementation of Phase one & two redevelopment of the Early Years Outdoor Space. A huge challenge but we succeeded and donated £12.5K to the school!
Rigolo - In Action!
2017 the PTA funded the wonderful new French resource Rigolo. The old resources were very dated, and these modern, interactive resources give children the best opportunity to hone their skills before secondary school.
Each unit of learning begins with a story in French about a dragon called Bof. He gets up to all sorts of adventures as the story goes on, introducing new French words and phrases as he goes. The words and phrases that the children learn from Bof are relevant and would be helpful in any French speaking nation across the world. In my previous school, the children in Year 5 were able to produce a page of writing to describe themselves using this resource as a prompt, and I am hoping we will move towards that at Cam Hopton.
In the future, we will be looking at pairing Cam Hopton with a French speaking school, so that we can use our new skills, and learn a little more about the language and the people of France - watch this space!
