The Computing Curriculum

At Cam Hopton Primary School, our staff aim to give all pupils the life-skills that will enable them to embrace technology and programs safely and responsibly.

During their schooling, we want our pupils to use technology that will support their learning in all areas of the curriculum.  We would like our pupils to become confident, trustworthy, creative, resilient and work independently and collaboratively when using computers.

Staff at Cam Hopton Primary School want every pupil to be a good Digital Citizen and enhance their understanding and learning of digital technologies.  A good digital citizen will take their knowledge into the wider world.

The children at Cam Hopton will have access to technology which will aid pupils’ knowledge and skills across the curriculum.  Teaching and learning will show progression from EYFS, KS1 through to the end of KS2.

E-Safety plays an integral part of the computing curriculum. Children will develop their understanding and explore areas of E-safety such as cyber-bullying, social media, plagiarism and security. Our school website provides E-Safety links for parents and children to access for further support.

Cam Hopton pupils will be able to apply the British values of democracy, mutual respect, tolerance, rule of law and liberty when using digital technology.   Furthermore, our pupils will be confident in using a range of technology at school and at home.

All staff at Cam Hopton are preparing our pupils for an ever changing world, where technology is at the forefront of changes in social, industrial and the economic environment. Computing enables children to be resilient and conscientious problems solvers, who are able to tackle challenges with vigour and a thirst for knowledge.
