Spring Term Clubs at Cam Hopton
Cam Hopton's Read Well Collection and Library Enrichment
We worked closely with Nailsworth based charity Read for Good and were part of their Library Project. We are proud to have our Read Well Collection displayed in our school library, to support our aim to offer 'Life in all its fullness'.
This collection has been carefully selected to support mental health and well-being. How we utilise this resource is evolving and it has already:
- supported individual children and groups
- been a focus for whole school worship & DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time
- provided ideas for a whole school writing
We are grateful to have received 100 inclusive and representative new books from the Little Box of Books and many new titles from Read for Good.
We continue to hold regular book fairs hosted by The Yellow Lighted Bookshop.
Our newly refurbished library is open!
Cam Hopton welcomes Read With Me volunteers
Working with community volunteers from Read With Me who offer one-to-one support in school, we aim to help every child learn to read well before they go to secondary school and take a full part in education.

Cam Hopton works in partnership with YOUNG MINDS MATTER.
Young Minds Matter is a safe, confidential mental health support service for school-aged children. They are part of the Gloucestershire NHS Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and a national scheme of Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs).

Our School Day
- Early Opening: we allow children into class at 8.35am, where they will be supervised doing early morning tasks.
- Registration: Children must be in school by 8:40am
- End of day: Unless children are attending a club, they will leave school by 3.10pm, starting with the youngest children first.
